Support at Home Occupational Therapy
Mobile Occupational Therapy for older adults across Perth’s northern suburbs
Comprehensive in-home occupational therapy
We partner with older adults, families, and Home Care Package (HCP) coordinators to deliver tailored occupational therapy solutions designed to foster safety, daily capability, and independent living.
North Therapy Solutions provides mobile Occupational Therapy for older adults receiving Support at Home services.
I work with people experiencing a wide range of health conditions, mobility changes and functional difficulties, with a focus on helping them remain safe, independent and confident in their own home.
As a sole trader, I provide all assessments, recommendations and follow-up personally, so clients, families and care providers have one consistent Occupational Therapist and point of contact.

Strategies to maintain independence with everyday activities
Home Safety and Falls Prevention
An Occupational Therapy home assessment can identify areas of the home that may be contributing to difficulty or falls risk.
Recommendations may include equipment, changes to the environment, safer ways of completing activities or home modifications.
The aim is to support independence while making everyday activities as safe and manageable as possible.
Equipment and Assistive Technology
The right equipment can make a significant difference to independence at home.
I can assess and recommend equipment to support activities such as:
-
Showering
-
Toileting
-
Dressing
-
Transfers
-
Seating
-
Mobility
-
Meal preparation
-
Household activities
Recommendations are based on the person's individual needs, function and home environment.
Home Modifications
Home modifications can make a significant difference to safety, accessibility and independence.
I provide Occupational Therapy assessment and recommendations for a broad range of home modifications for older adults. This may include changes to bathrooms, toilets, entrances, access and other areas of the home.
Recommendations are based on the person's functional needs, mobility, safety, daily routines and the way they use their home.
Where appropriate, I can work with the client, family, Support at Home provider and relevant trades or suppliers to help ensure the recommended modifications are practical and suited to the individual.
Maintaining Independence at Home
Support at Home Occupational Therapy is not only about equipment.
I also work with clients to find practical ways to continue completing meaningful everyday activities, particularly when tasks have become more difficult due to changes in health or function.
This may include adapting the way an activity is completed, simplifying tasks, conserving energy, supporting cognitive changes or introducing equipment and environmental supports.
Cognitive Assessment and Support
Changes in memory, attention, planning, judgement or problem solving can affect a person’s ability to manage everyday activities safely and independently.
I provide Occupational Therapy assessment for older adults experiencing cognitive changes, including people living with dementia or cognitive impairment.
Assessment focuses on how cognition is affecting everyday function and may consider areas such as:
-
Managing daily routines
-
Meal preparation and kitchen safety
-
Personal care
-
Medication routines
-
Home and community safety
-
Memory and organisation
-
Initiating and completing everyday tasks
-
Use of equipment and assistive technology
Support may include practical strategies, environmental changes, routines, prompts, equipment and education for family members or carers.
The aim is to support the person’s abilities, maintain independence where possible and make everyday activities safer and more manageable.
